BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee State track and field junior Kareem Nicholas (Atlanta, Ga.) earned Adidas Ohio Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this outdoor season, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Nicholas picked up the accolades following his performance at the APSU Invitational over the weekend. The Atlanta, Ga. native won the triple jump with a distance of 15.69m (51’5.75”), which was a new personal record for the junior. The mark is the best in the OVC this season and ranks 19th in the nation.
He also put up a second-place finish in the long jump, reaching 7.37m (24’2.25”). It’s the second-best distance in the OVC for the long jump on the year.
Nicholas won the award earlier in the outdoor season on March 23 for his efforts at the Bulls Invitational.
