Flying Tigers Pick up Strong Showing in Relays at Pepsi Florida Relays

RESULTS

GAINESVILLE, Tenn. – The Flying Tigers wrapped up action at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday at Percy Beard Track in Gainesville, Fla. in an event hosted by the University of Florida.

Competing in the 110m shuttle hurdle relay, TSU’s team of Shawn Harris (Memphis, Tenn.), Jason Griffin (Gallatin, Tenn.), Desmond Tanner (Clarksville, Tenn.) and Isaiah Olige (Nashville, Tenn.) finished in 1:01.74 to take fourth.

In the 4x100m relay, the Flying Tigers clocked in at 41.60 thanks to the efforts of Jerome Henderson III (Clarkesville, Tenn.), James Stewart (Nashville, Tenn.), Malik Davis (College Park, Ga.) and Malik Wright (Tampa, Fla.).

TSU’s team of Henderson, Stewart, Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) and Wright turned in a time of 1:26.09 to take 16th overall in the 4x200m rleay.

In the field events, Kyle Washington-Scott (St. Louis, Mo.) came up with a throw of 16.08m (52’9.25”) in the shot put on his first attempt.

Next up for TSU is a trip to Clarksville, Tenn. for the APSU Invitational on April 15-16.
