GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) ran his best 800m time of the season as the Tennessee State men’s track and field team concluded day two of the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday at Percy Beard Track.
Prince completed the 800m race in 1:48.66 to earn 14th out of 61 in the field. For the reigning Ohio Valley Conference indoor champion for the event, his previous best this season was 1:49.36. His finish of 1:48.66 was just off his personal record of 1:48.41 set at the 2015 OVC Outdoor Championship.
In the 400m hurdles, Jason Griffin (Gallatin, Tenn.) clocked in at 54.61, while Jerome Henderson III (Clarksville, Tenn.) finished the 100m in 10.83.
In the prelims of the 4x400m relay on Friday, Prince and Griffin teamed up with Jontue McDowell (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Malik Wright (Tampa, Fla.) for a time of 3:13.34.
The Pepsi Florida Relays conclude tomorrow.
