STARTING LINE: Competing in its third outdoor event of the season, the TSU men’s track and field team travels to Gainesville, Fla. for the Pepsi Florida Relays. The Flying Tigers are making their second trip to Florida of the outdoor season after opening up in Tampa at the Bulls Invitational.
TV COVERAGE: Day two and three action can be seen live on the SEC Network and the Watch ESPN app.
SCHEDULE: Competition gets underway on Thursday at 2 p.m. Action will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
THE FIELD: Student-athletes from around the nation head to Gainesville for the Pepsi Florida Relays. Entries are from Florida, Syracuse, North Carolina, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Ole Miss, among others.
LAST TIME OUT: Shaquille Cragwall (Lebanon, Tenn.), Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) and Kareem Nicholas (Atlanta, Ga.) all won individual events as part of TSU’s effort at the Black & Gold Invitational on March 25-26 at Vanderbilt. On day one, Cragwall bested the field in the triple jump with a distance of 14.72m (48’3.5”). Prince ran a personal record time to win the 400m (47.36), while Nicholas reached 7.24m (23’9”) in the long jump in day two action.
UP NEXT: The Flying Tigers travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the APSU Invitational on April 15-16.
