NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State track and field teams will begin the Outdoor Season this weekend at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa.
The meet will begin on Thursday with the Hammer Throw and conclude on Saturday with the relays.
Last season, Clairwin Dameus placed second in the heptathlon with 5283 points. The then-sophomore won the 200-meter dash and long jump events, leading to the high finish overall.
She later paired with teammate Amber Hughes and two other Tigerbelles to place second in the 4x100 with a final of 45.58.
For the Flying Tigers, Jerome Henderson notched at fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (10.78 seconds) and Daryl Rice tied for third in the high jump (2.10 meters).
The Alabama Relays is one of the most prestigious events in the county, luring teams from the University of Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt, along with the host Crimson Tide.
