NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State sophomore Clairwin Dameus earned 2014 Indoor Track and Field Female Athlete of the Championship honors in a vote by the league's head coaches.
Dameus helped lead the Tigerbells to its third indoor title. She took first in the pentathlon with 3,625 points and was a part of the record setting 4x400 relay team that completed the event in 3:42.73.
The Boynton Beach, Fla. native continued her dominant performance by finishing second in the long jump (20'25.00") and 55-meter hurdles (7.83), while taking third in the 55 meter dash (7.07).
Dameus scored 34.5 of TSU’s 144 points.
Dameus and the rest of track and field teams will prepare for the John Mitchell Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala. this Thursday through Saturday.
