Flying Tigers' 4x400 to compete in Valentine Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University men's track and field 4x400m relay team will travel to Murfreesboro to compete in Middle Tennessee State's Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb.12. Along with Markeith Price, competing in the open 400m and the long jump, the 4x400m relay team will make the only appearance for TSU.

The meet is scheduled to begin at the Murphy Center with the men and women's high jump at 9 a.m. The 4x400m relay race will conclude the invitational at 2 p.m.

Schools competing will include: Troy, Belmont, Milligan, UT Chattanooga, and Western Kentucky.

Earlier this season, the 4x400m relay team finished with a season best time of 3:22.05; it was good for second place at the MTSU's Christmas Invitational (12/12). RECAP...

Last week in Murfreesboro, the Tigers picked up a first-place finish in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:24.27 (02/05). RECAP...

This week, the 4x400m relay team will be comprised of Philip Myton, Michael Rideout, Michael Johnson, and Lequinn Davis. The quartet will try to lower their time before competing in the conference indoor championship in March.

At last year's Valentine Invitational, the 4x400m relay team finished in second place with a time of 3:16.12. Michael Rideout, Arthur Combest, and Xavier Walton also earned top finishes in their respective events. RECAP...

The Tigers will take next week off from competition to prepare for the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship in Charleston, Ill. (02/25-02/26).
