Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Flying Tigers' opened the indoor season at Middle Tennessee State's Christmas Invitational on Saturday with Tennessee State University grabbing a set of top-three finishes.
The Flying Tigers credit one win, three second and two third place awards, to their first meet of the 2010-11 season.
Chris Hobbs won his first career indoor race in the 800m with a time of 1:59.35 with Donnie Johnson following third in the event with a time of 2:15.28.
Julian Mallory and Michael Rideout finished back-to-back in the 200m. Mallory registered second place at 22.18 and Rideout finishing right behind at third with a 22.27 clocking. In the 55m hurdles, Arthur Combest finished second with a time of 7.80 seconds.
Hobbs and Rideout joined Michael Johnson and Phillp Myton to close out the meet in the 4x400m relay by running a time of 3:22.05 to finish in second.
Also registering a to finish, Duvall Young, tossed a 41-02.50 (12.56m) for fourth place in his first collegiate track and field competition.
Next, the team will open 2011 year at home in the Ed Temple Classic on Jan. 8
