Flying Tigers return to MTSU

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Flying Tigers will make their second trip to Murfreesboro, Tenn. this season when they compete in the Blue Raider Invitational.

The indoor competition is set for Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Murphy Center and is hosted by Middle Tennessee State University.

The invitational is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the women's weight throw with Belmont, Florida A&M, Samford, Troy and UT Chattanooga among the list of team's competing.

TSU is looking to improve from last week's Saluki Open at Southern Illinois. Michael Rideout posted the best performance finishing second in the 400m with a converted time of 49.02. The clocking ties the fastest time in the OVC on the season. RECAP...

The Flying Tigers are no strangers to the indoor track at the Murphy Center. In their first meet of the year, TSU competed in the Christmas Invitational hosted by MTSU. Chris Hobbs captured a victory in the 800m (1:59.35) while Julian Mallory (22.18 secs.) and Rideout (22.27 secs.) finished second and third in the 200m. RECAP...

The Flying Tigers will return to the track on Saturday, Jan. 29, at home in the TSU Invite. The competition is set inside the Gentry Center on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track.
