Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Flying Tigers picked up a win and a few third-place finishes at the Blue Raider Invitational hosted by Middle Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon.
Michael Rideout captured his first victory in the 400m this season with a time of 49.49 seconds. It was the only victory TSU would tally on the day while grabbing third-place finishes in the 55m hurdles, 4x400m relay, and the high jump.
In the 55m hurdles, Arthur Combest posted his fastest time of the season in the event. After qualifying for the finals with the fifth fastest time of 7.90 secs, Combest finished third overall with a clocking of 7.71 secs.
In the field events, Jamal Henderson closed out his competition in the high jump at 6-02.00 (1.87m) for third place. Avian Hughes finished fourth overall in the long jump with a mark of 22-11.00 (6.98m).
Next, the Flying Tigers will compete at home in the TSU Invite on Saturday, Jan. 22. The meet will take place inside the Gentry Center.
