Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Flying Tigers will open their outdoor schedule when they travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the 40th Annual Morehouse College Relays.
The three-day event will host schools through the collegiate, middle, and high school ranks beginning, Thursday, March 17, ending, Saturday, March 19. The college portion of the relays will start with the decathlon/heptathlon on Friday.
The Morehouse Relays is in one of the largest track and field events in the South and will be hosted on the campus of Morehouse College. Events will take place on the Edwin Moses Track inside B.T. Harvey Stadium.
All relays and collegiate events will kick-off on Saturday, March 19, with a rolling schedule following the combined heat of the men and women's 10, 000m run at 9 a.m.
The list of college teams competing include: Alabama A&M, Albany State, Clark Atlanta, Florida A&M, Fort Valley State, Georgia State, Kentucky State, Lane, Miles, Paine, Rust, Stillman, Troy and Tuskegee.
Last year, TSU ended their day early, which resulted in an eighth place finish in the final team standings. Michael Rideout spotlighted the team finishing first in the 400m with a time of 48.26 seconds. RECAP...
Next, TSU will participate in the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The event is a two-day affair set for March 25-26.
