Carbondale, Ill. - The Flying Tigers improved on the year as Tennessee State University collected several notable performances at the SASF Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois (1/15-16).

Among the intense competition, TSU finished with a pair of third-place finishes with Nathaniel Moore finishing third in the 200-meter dash with the time of 22.44 seconds. Moore also tacked on a fifth-place finish in the 400m with a 49.27 clocking.

Moore posted his fastest times in the events this year and moved to second on the weekly OVC Best Performance List in both races.

Moore would join Michael Rideout, Phillip Myton, Jamal Henderson on the 4x400-meter relay team to finish third with their fastest time of the season, 3:20.48.

The team shaved four seconds last week's performance with the time converting to 3:18.08 due to track size. It currently gives the team the fastest time in the OVC in the event.

Other highlighted finishes include: Xavier Walton (5th, 7.10m), Adrien Hill (8th, 6.80m) and Avian Hughes (9th, 6.78m) finishing with their best marks in the long jump on the season. Walton moves to second on the OVC list in the event this season with the vault at 23"3.5'.

Arthur Combest qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash with the fourth fastest time of the day, 8.42 sec, but finished sixth overall at 8.44 seconds.
