Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University men's track team collected several top finishes at the 10th Annual Ed Temple Classic with three athletes receiving final awards, Sunday afternoon (1/10) at the Gentry Center.
The field performance of Tyson Kemp and Arthur Combest put things in motion in the early half of the meet.
Kemp won the shot put in the collegiate standings with a toss of 52"02.75 (15.92m). Combest placed second in the high jump overall with a vault of 6"08.25 (2.04m). Combest also finished fifth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.63 seconds.
On the track, Nathaniel Moore finished with the best individual performance for the Flying Tigers. In his first race of the season, Moore's 50.01 seconds in the 400-meter dash was good for an overall second-place standing.
Next, TSU will head to the SASF Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois. The meet will begin Friday, Jan. 15 with the field events, and conclude Saturday with the track competition.
