Flying Tigers tune up at Morehouse Relays

Atlanta, Ga.  - To open the 2010 outdoor season, the Tennessee State University men's track team finished eighth in the team standings at the 39th Annual Morehouse Relays on Saturday (3/19).

Troy University captured the meet victory with 200.5 points followed by host Morehouse (185) and Florida A&M (104.5) to round out the top three teams.

Shorthanded, the Flying Tigers scored in six events participating in the same number of competitions while placing in the top-three in two.

Michael Rideout highlighted the team's efforts winning the 400-meter dash. Rideout managed his first collegiate win in the event after mustering a burst in the last 10 meters of the race finishing with a time of 48.26.

In the 800-meter, Christopher Hobbs posted a time of 1:58.87 for a third-place finish.

Next, the team will head to Cookeville, Tenn. to compete in the Tennessee Tech Invitational on March 27. The site will host the OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championship in April.
