Nashville, Tenn. - In their only outdoor home meet of the season, the host Tennessee State University Flying Tigers tallied four top finishes in the 8th Annual Boston-Moon Classic.
TSU posted a pair of wins including several top finishes. Michael Rideout remained undefeated on the season in the 400m picking up first place with a time of 48.38 seconds.
Rideout returned to help lead the 4x400m relay team to first in a dramatic race to close out the meet. The Flying Tigers used splits from Phillip Myton (49.2 secs), Julian Mallory (48.4 secs), Johnnie Poole (50.9 secs) and Rideout (48.4 secs) to register a time of 3:17.82 in their first appearance in the event this season.
In addition, Mallory spotlighted TSU in the short sprints running career times in the 100m (5th - 10.92 secs) and 200m (4th - 21.89 secs).
In the field events, Walton continues to improve in the long jump capturing second place while recording a personal record with a mark of 23' 08.75 (7.23m).
Avian Hughes followed in third posting a jump of 23'00.75. Hughes posted a career record in the event while breaking the 23-foot mark for the first time.
The Flying Tigers will return to action when they travel to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Auburn Invitational. The meet, will take place on the campus of host, Auburn University, and will be held on Saturday, April 17th, at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.
