Buford Williams Earns NCAA Provisional Qualification in High Jump

The Tennessee State University “Flying Tigers” men’s track team finished fourth in the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Track and Field Championships run at Tennessee State’s Gentry Center, February 29 - March 1, 2008.

Senior runner/jumper Buford Williams earned NCAA Provisional Qualification in the High Jump with a jump of 2.08m (6’8”). Williams cleared the same height as the his top competitor, but finished second on misses.

  • 55m Dash - Worlie Johnson - 2nd (6.50), Buford Williams - 4th (6.58)
  • 55m Hurdles - Ryan Fraction - 3rd (7.70), Roy Fraction - 4th (7.74)

  • 400m Dash - Bryan Johnson - 5th (50.99)
  • 4x400m Relay - 2nd (3:20.50)
  • Long Jump - Buford Williams - 2nd (7.51m), Dareal Beal - 3rd (7.29m), Xavier Walton - 4th (7.25m)
  • Triple Jump - Trenton Britt - 3rd (14.24m)
