Thirteen men and women's track teams are set to compete in the Boston Moon Track Classic at Tennessee State University on Saturday, April 14, 2007. Field events begin at 2:00p and running events begin at 4:00p. The meet, named in honor of Tennessee State track legends Ralph Boston and Josh Moon will be contested on the Ed Temple Track located adjacent to TSU's Gentry Center will be part of TSU's "Triple Play" Saturday. Boston will be in attendance at the meet as an honorary official. Teams registered for the meet are; Alabama A&M, Bellarmine, Belmont University, Fisk University, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb Track, Middle Tennessee State, Seton Hall University, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Vanderbilt University, Western Kentucky, Xavier University. Tennessee State men's team is headed by Chris Howell who has clocked the fastest time in the Ohio Valley Conference this season in the 100M (10.70) and 200M (21.47). TSU 's Buford Williams has leaped a season best 23'09.00" in the Long Jump, second best in the OVC this season. On the women's side, TSU Tigerbelle Dominique Ward has registered OVC bests in the 200M (24.98) and 400M (55.52). Team-mate Marielle Hill has run a 12.20 100M, third best in the OVC and Gladys Willilams has an OVC best 5'06.50" in the High Jump. Action is anticipated in the women's 4x100M Relay as Jacksonville State and Tennessee State teams have recorded the two best times in the OVC this season with clockings of 47.42 and 47.47 respectively. The women's 4x100M relay event is slated for 4:40p. Jacksonville State's Andrea Arnuad has recorded OVC bests in the Long Jump (18'08.50") and the Triple Jump (39'05.00").
