COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State Tigerbelles posted a solid third place finish in the Tennessee Tech Invitational last weekend as the team continues its progress. TSU, which won the Atlanta University Center Invitational late last month, returned to action in the Tech event. Rae'ven Richard, who was the top individual in Atlanta, ran the 5K course at Southern Hills Golf Course in a time of 20:58.5. She edged teammate Brittany Carpenter who was right behind to post a 10th place finish with a time of 20:59.6. Felicia Jeffers was 14th (21:34.5), followed by Rahab Kagaruki (24th, 23:26.9), and Jocelyn Gardiner (26th, 24:14.8). Host Tech won the event with a 29, followed by North Alabama 39, TSU 83, Montevallo 95, Alabama A&M 145, and Bethel 155. The Tigerbelles will run in UT Chattanooga Invitational this weekend in the final tuneup before the Ohio Valley Conference Championships later this month.
