FLYING TIGERS OPEN INDOOR SEASON
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State Flying Tigers opened their indoor track and field season Saturday at the Middle Tennessee State University Christmas Classic held in the Murphy Center. Sophomore standout Buford Williams took second place finish in the long jump with a leap of 24'00 feet .50 inches (his career best), just behind MTSU's Juan Walker who leaped 24-07.5. TSU's Saihou Mbenga was third with a top leap of 23-04.00. Christopher Howell took fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.21. Patrick Robinson took a third place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.85. Evan Wimberly took fifth place in the mile run with a time of 4:38.71, and fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:03.71, and Mark Lollis was fifth with a time of 2:04.32. Ivra Warren finished 4th place in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.11 seconds, and Jamisin Lacy was fifth with a time of 8.12 seconds. The TSU "A"4x400 meter relay team was fourth with a time of 3:26.70. Teams from host Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, TSU, as well as several individual athletes competed in the event. The Flying Tigers next meet is on January 8, 2006 at home in the Howard C. Gentry, for the Ed Temple Indoor Meet.
