TSU FRESHMAN HIGH JUMPER KEEPS STREAK INTACT
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State freshman high jumper Buford Williams captured his third consecutive event in as many weeks with his first-place performance in the Tennessee State Invitational. Williams, a 5-11 product from Nashville's Maplewood High, posted a 6-8 jump in his event. Williams also captured a second first place when he won the long jump with a leap of 23 feet 10.25 inches. Patrick Robinson took a third place finish in the 44-meter dash with a time of 49.89 seconds. Senior Mike Smith was second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.56 seconds. TSU's 4x400 meter relay team of David Latten, Robinson, Ricky Sayles, and Paul Satcher finished second with a time of 3:29.71 behind Alabama A&M. Next action for the TSU men will be Feb. 5 at Middle Tennessee State.
