TIGERS LEAD OVC IN THREE TRACK CATEGORIES

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State men's track team tops the Ohio Valley Conference's best lists in three events following the first week of the outdoor season. TSU competed in the South Carolina Invitational last weekend. The Tigers' Marcus Morris heads the list in the 110-meters, posting a time of 14.63. Morris also had the best time on the 400-meters with a time of 46.93. The TSU relay team is second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 44.58, trailing Morehead State by just more than a second. In field events, the Tigers are currently one-two in the long jump. Saihou Mbenga had a best jump of 22 feet 9.25 inches while Buford Williams had a jump of 22.02.09 to trail his teammate. The Tigers began the outdoor campaign after posting a fifth place finish during the OVC's Indoor Track and Field Championships. The TSU men will host the Annual Boston/Moon Classic on April 16 at the Edward S. Temple Track.
