MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD OFF TO GOOD START AFTER MTSU INVITATIONAL
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State men's indoor track and field squad had five top-three finishes under its belt after competing at the Middle Tennessee State Christmas Invitational over the weekend. The Tigers competed against athletes from host-MTSU and Western Kentucky. Eric Stanberry notched one of the highest finishes among the runners for Tennessee State, coming in second in the 800m with a time of 2:00.17, just 14-tenths of a second behind the event winner, Godfrey Herring who ran unattached. Joshua Love took fourth in the event with a time of 2:01.68. Jermie Harris also finished second in his event, the 400m, with a time of 49.48. In the 55m hurdles, the Tigers finished three, four -- Marcus Morris crossed the line in 7.91 and he was followed by Ivra Warren who finished in 8.18. In the mile, Even Wimberly took fifth overall with a time of 4:46. The men's track and field team returns to action on January 11, 2004 as they host the Ed Temple Classic.
