WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMLOOKS TO CONTINUE PROGRESS AT MSU
NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State women's cross country team will travel to the Murray State Invitational on Saturday, coming off a solid performance last weekend at Tennessee Tech. The Tigerbelles took second place out of full four teams who competed. A total of six schools were represented at the event. TSU was paced by freshman Rae'ven Richards who posted a time of 20:11.86. Juanita Thomas finished fourth with a time of 20:45.88. "We had some good times and hopefully we can continue to make progress," said TSU head coach Chandra Cheeseborough. TSU's Makeya Miller and Kristin Bennett posted finishes of 13th and 14th, respectively, and Sharay Staton closed out the team's scoring with a 17th place finish. The Tigerbelles finished with a team score of 35. Host Tech won with a 35. Austin Peay had a 106 and Fisk had a 124. Athletes from UT Martin and Cumberland also participated.
