TSU Men's Tennis Completes Day One of ITA Regionals

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Tennesse State competed in it's first day of ITA Ohio Valley Conference Regionals. Competing in main draws for doubles and singles, the Tigers began the day at 8 a.m. with doubles and then moved onto singles.

Stephan Koruga and Maksims Kazijevs competed against Louisville players James Bell and Clement Filho and were defeated 8-3. Kato Richardson and Alberto Gonzalez Raton were defeated by Alberto Gonzalez and Julian Saborio of Purdue University 8-0. Juan Carlos and Leandros Misdrachis beat their competition from University of Dayton, 8-7 going to a tie breaker and winning 7-3. They went on to the second round and were defeated by Felix Rauch and Taisei Miyamoto of Belmont University, 8-2. 

Tennessee State's Larry Sloan was defeated by Xavier University's Brett Winters, 6-0, 6-0. Stefan Koruga fell to Turner Voges from University of Chattanooga, 6-2, 6-0. Juan Carlos competed agaisnt Parth Aggarwal from University of Kentucky and was defeated 6-3, 6-0. Senior Kato Richardson played against IUPUI's Sean Bailey and was defeated 6-1, 6-0. Lastly, Leandros Misdrachis fell to cross town rival James Ignatowich from Vanderbilt University 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
