Koruga Excites in Final Match of Regular Season

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men's tennis team fell, 7-0 to Jacksonville State in its final match of the regular season. 

The Gamecocks clinched the doubles point, 6-2 at No. 1 at No. 2, leaving the final match unfinished. 

Sophomore Stefan Koruga of Novi Sad, Serbia was the standout Tiger of the day, fighting through an exhilarating tie break, eventually falling to opponent Aljaz Kaplja at No. 1, 6-4, 7-6, 14-12. Leandros Misdrachis also put up a strong front at No. 2, amassing six games versus Joaquin Vallejo. 

The Tigers (#6) will compete in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament against Jacksonville State (#3), next Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Hadley Park.
