STARTING SERVE: The Tennessee State men’s tennis team heads to Cookeville, Tennessee to battle Tennessee Tech in its final away match of the regular season. The Tigers will play at Tech Tennis Courts with first serve set for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Big Blue took on Belmont at Nashboro Village Athletic Club Saturday afternoon with constant precipitation moving the match indoors. The Bruins, who was in a three-way tie for first in the Ohio Valley Conference, worked their way through the Tigers, sweeping both the doubles and singles competition.

Freshman Juan Rojas Antezana forced three sets at No. 3 after winning the first, 6-3. BU's Joan Valy rounded out the match 6-2, 7-6 (7-2), defeating Antezana for another Belmont point.  

SCOUTING TENNESSEE TECH: In a three-way tie with Belmont and Saturday’s opponent Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech is looking to improve upon its 7-13, 3-1 record. Wenceslao Albin, an East Tennessee State transfer, leads the Golden Eagles in singles victories with a 7-1 record at No. 5, 3-2 at No. 4.

Carlos Vicente and Gonzalo Garcia, both from Spain, lead TTU as a doubles team with nine victories at No. 1.

TTU won the OVC Championships last season, defeating Austin Peay 4-3.

UP NEXT: The Tigers host its final match of the regular season Saturday, April 20 at Hadley Park as conference-leaders Jacksonville State take a trip to Nashville.
