Nashville, Tenn. The Tennessee State University tennis teams will host Western Kentucky in non-conference play on April 8th with match time slated for 3 p.m. The game is the first of three final home matches for TSU on the week.
The Tigers will face Western Kentucky for the second time this season after both squads dropped a 7-0 decision back on March 20th.
The men's team (0-9) is coming off a 7-0 conference loss to Eastern Illinois (4/4) and are led by Justin Hamm. Hamm posts the most wins in singles play for the Tigers this year at two. TSU is 5-46 (.098) in individual match-ups and 1-23 (.042) in doubles play.
The Hilltoppers (11-9) have dropped three straight including a 4-0 loss to Memphis at the Sunbelt Shootout hosted by Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on April 4th. WKU is led by Thomas Krug (14-2) in singles competition.
On the women's side, TSU (0-10) is led by Dania Lofton (4-5) and are fresh off a 4-2 conference loss to Southeast Missouri State (4/5). The Tigers are 6-54 in singles and 2-21 in doubles action.
The Lady Toppers (9-5) are on a three-game slide falling to UT Chattanooga their last time on the court, 6-1. They are led by Maria Djuran who is 3-2 in singles play at the No. 1.
Next up, the Tigers will host Jacksonville State in a rescheduled OVC match on Friday, April 10th at 1:30 pm.
