Tennis Unable to Break Skid Against Eastern Kentucky

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University Tiger men tennis team were unable to gather their first win of the season against a tough Eastern Kentucky squad dropping the match 5-0 in conference play at the TSU Tennis Complex.

The Tigers move to an overall 0-6 record and 0-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play. In the cold and windy morning, TSU's men scored five points total in games played. Due to the weather, only singles competiton was played.

Eastern Kentucky's men picked up their fourth straight win to go 13-8 overall and 3-0 in the OVC.

Justin Hamm (1-5) fell in the number one seeded singles match-up, 6-1, 6-2, to  Alex Dasizquierdo. In the number two match-up, Aaron Fields (1-5) suffered the loss to Carlos Valdennebro, 6-1, 6-1.

The Tigers could not find their rhythm in the number four and five games with Jaala Brooks losing in two sets, 6-0, 6-0, to Mel Segota and Michael Mosley going down to Nikalas Schroedor, 6-0, 6-0. Gerald Robinson, Jr. retired after trailing 3-0 to Emilio Piriz.

The Tigers will continue OVC play when they travel to Jacksonville, Ala. to play Jacksonville State on Tuesday, March 31st . The rescheduled match is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
