Men's golf places 15th at F&M Bank Intercollegiate

Hopkinsville, Ky. --- The Tennessee State University men's golf team concluded the fall season with a 15th place finish at the F&M Bank Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon at the Novadell Golf Course.

Cameron Scitern and Codie Welborn were the leaders for Tennessee State. Scitern opened the tournament with an even-par 72 before recording a (+5) 77 in the second round. He registered a one-over 73 in the final frame to finish with 222.

Welborn shot 75 in the first round before improving with a 2-under-par 70 in the second frame. He finished the tournament with a 77 for a total score of 222.

Ryan Pierson tallied 226 for the tournament with rounds of 75-77-74 while Dallas Hill (75-77-78) and James Stepp (79-79-76) rounded out the scorers for TSU.

As a team, Tennessee State carded rounds of 297-301-300 for a 34-over-par 898. Host Austin Peay claimed the tournament title with a (-25) score of 839. Last year's champion Jacksonville State finished second (848) while Samford University placed third (850).

Tuesday's  fifteenth place mark is the Tigers' lowest finish this fall season.
