Men's golf continues play at the FAMU Spring Golf Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University men's golf team will tee off this weekend for the Florida A&M University Spring Golf Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.

The invitational will be held at the par-72, 7,172-yard Southwood Golf Course designed by PGA Tour legend Fred Couples. The 36-hole tournament will feature 18 holes of competition each day on Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20.

The 7-team field for this year's tournament includes: Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman, Tennessee State, Hampton, Maryland Eastern Shore, North Carolina Central, and Savannah State.

The Tigers are coming off of a top ten finish at the Grover Page Classic where they placed sixth. The men were led by Ryan Smith who tied in 8th place, shooting a 74 in the opening round while carding a 77 and 69 in rounds two and three.

TSU did not participate in last year's FAMU Spring Golf Invitational.

First round action is set to kick-off off on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m with the second round teeing off at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The men's next competition will take place when they host the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate from April 3-5.
