Hopkinsville, Ky. --- The Tennessee State men's golf team shot a three round total of 5-over-par 869 to finish 14th on Tuesday in the 2010 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at the par-702, 6,886-yard Links Novadell Golf Course.
The17-field tournament, hosted by Austin Peay, featured ten OVC schools including Tennessee State.
Senior Richard Gill turned in the best finish for the Tigers shooting rounds of 72, 69, and 72 for a tied 28th finish at 3-under-par 213.
TSU had four other players in the field, including Ryan Pierson who finished tied for 46th and shot rounds of 73, 70, and 74 (217). Andrew Warner (T56th) carded a 219 (71-70-78) while Ryan Smith (T 59th) recorded a score of 220 (76-67-77). Dorian Vauls rounded out the scorers for TSU with a 252 (78-91-83) and a 91st place finish.
The tournament winner Jacksonville State finished with a 42-under par 822 while Bowling Green placed second (831). Oakland University rounded out the top three with a score of 840.
The Tigers will close out its fall schedule to participate in the SIU Edwardsville Fall Classic, Oct. 24-26, hosted by SIU Edwardsville.
