Tigers Prepare for Home Golf Tourney

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University men's golf team will host the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at the Hermitage Golf Course from April 4 - 7. Practice rounds are scheduled for Sunday with round one (36 holes - continuous play) set for Monday. The second and final round (18 holes) will conclude the tournament with an awards ceremony to follow on Tuesday.

Team scheduled to participate include: UT Martin, Murray State, Morehead State, Lipscomb, Evansville, SIU Edwardsville, University of the Cumberlands, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Tennessee Tech, John A. Logan, and Middle Tennessee State, among others.

The Tigers are off a seventh place tie at the Butler Spring Invitational (3/22 - 24) and are led by Chris Seibel. Seibel finished seventh overall in and was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week (3/25) for his performance.

The women's team will host their version of the TSU Big Blue Invitational starting April 12.

The Tigers will gear up for the 2009 OVC Golf Championship in Muscle Shoals, Ala. The championship is scheduled for April 26 - 29th.
