NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University senior golfer Robert Dinwiddie has been named the 2005 Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Year. Dinwiddie received the honor in a vote of the conference's head coaches. Dinwiddie led the OVC in strokes average, averaging 70.7 strokes per round in 26 rounds through the regular season. The announcement of Dinwiddie's honor came at the 2005 OVC Men's Championships. Dinwiddie played in a tournament in Spain representing his home country of England prior to the OVC Championships. Upon his return, Dinwiddie had to use borrowed clubs when his own clubs never arrived at the airport. Despite the obstacle, Dinwiddie managed to finish in 12th place. In his four years, Dinwiddie was medalist at a total of 10 events and posted numerous other top 10 finishes. Dinwiddie represented TSU at the NCAA Regionals last year and has been recognized as NCAA Division I Golfer of the Week during his career.
