TIGER GOLF TEAM TIED FOR THIRD AFTERFIRST DAY OF BELMONT INVITATIONAL
FRANKLIN, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State golf team stands in a third place tie following the first day of play in the Belmont Spring Invitational. The Tigers hot a 572 to be tied with Southeast Missouri and just three strokes behind second place Tennessee Tech's 569. However, Big 12 Conference member Missouri shot a blistering 20-under par 548 to lead the 17-team field. TSU helped lead the Tigers to the team title last year as tournament medalist. Dinwiddie is third with rounds of 66 and 70 for a 133. Missouri's Chris Mabry and Shawn Jasper hold a three-stroke edge over Dinwiddie with 36-hole totals of 133, including a 63 each in the opening round. Other TSU scores are Phillips Watkins 138, Stu Michaels and Jordan Roberts 150, and Lawrence Larson 154. The final round on the par-71, 6,759-yard Legends Club Course is set for Tuesday.
