TIGER GOLFERS POST ANOTHER SOLID SHOWING IN STRONG ECU FIELD

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Tennessee State finished posted another solid finish in a strong field of teams and senior Robert Dinwiddie came up in his bid for medalist honors at the rain-shortened East Carolina Bradford Creek Intercollegiate which concluded Saturday afternoon. The tournament was scheduled for 54 holes, but moved to 36 because of heavy rain in the area this week. TSU shot a total of 582 to finish tied with Old Dominion and Kennesaw State for seventh place in the 18-team field. Dinwiddie had a two-day total of a three-under par 141 to on the par-72, 7,120-yard Bradford Creek course. Dinwiddie received all-tournament honors. Robin Smith of host ECU won the event with a 137. East Carolina shot a 568 to win the event, by eight strokes. TSU was just six strokes out of second place in the tournament which featured team from the Tigers' NCAA golf district. TSU's Phillip Watkins just missed a spot n the all-tourney squad with a two-under 142 that placed him a tie for seventh. Other TSU scores were Lawrence Larson 149, Jordan Roberts 151, and Stu Michaels 152. The Tigers will jump right back into action on Monday at the Jacksonville State Invitational.
