TIGER GOLFERS TIED FOR FOURTH AFTER FIRST ROUNDOF OVC CHAMPIONSHIPS

PADUCAH, Ky. --- The Tennessee State men's golf team is tied for fourth place after the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference championships, but only seven strokes behind first round leader Austin Peay. The Tigers shot an opening round 305 to be deadlocked with Morehead State. APSU had a 305, four strokes ahead of Jacksonville State and Morehead State who each shot a 302. TSU junior Robert Dinwiddie is one of four players who shot a one-under par 71 to be in second place one stroke back for first round leader Drew Alexander of Eastern Kentucky. Tigers' Phillips Watkins, Mark Searle, and Jordan Roberts all had opening rounds 78 to be a 24th place tie while Stu Michaels had an opening round 80. Rounding out the team scores were Eastern Kentucky 307, Samford and Eastern Illinois 310, Tennessee-Martin and Tech 315, and host Southeast Missouri 320. The second round of the 54-hole tournament will be held Tuesday and is being played on the par-72, 6,915 yard Paducah Country Club Course.
