Freshmen Lead TSU at Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic

RESULTS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ---  Competing in the Silver Race on Saturday at the Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic, freshmen Larry McNary and Marcus Abdul both broke 29 minutes in the 8K for the first time in their collegiate careers to pace the Tennessee State men’s cross country team.

TSU and IPFW were the only NCAA Division I teams competing in the Silver Race on the day with TSU finishing behind IPFW.

McNary clocked in at 28:34.23 for 13th among D-1 competitors, while Abdul secured a 28:57.88 finish for 14th place.

MEET NOTES

  • Saturday marked the third meet in a row that Larry McNary, Marcus Abdul and Jontue McDowell were TSU’s top three finishers.
  • McNary, Abdul, McDowell, Jamario Scott and Zyhir Baker-Elam all improved on their 8K times from the Asics Embry-Riddle on Sept. 16, 2017.
