Men's Basketball Picked Ninth in OVC Coaches/SIDs Preseason Poll

EVANSVILLE, Ind. --- With all the Ohio Valley Conference head coaches gathered in Evansville, Indiana for the annual OVC Basketball Media Day on Tuesday, it was announced that Tennessee State was selected ninth in the OVC Coaches/SIDs Preseason Poll.

The Coaches/SID poll comes four days after TSU was picked eighth in the OVC Media Preseason Poll.

In the poll voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the OVC, TSU received 90 points for ninth. Belmont was selected first with 237 points (17 first-place votes), while defending regular season and tournament champion Murray State picked up 223 points (seven first-place votes) for second in the poll.

The release of the preseason poll kicks off today’s OVC Media Day festivities in Evansville. Second-year Head Coach Brian “Penny” Collins will have the opportunity to speak with various media members from the league as well as tape promos and interviews for the OVC office.
