NASHVILLE --- Former Tennessee State men’s basketball forward Stokley Chaffee, Jr. (Oakland, Calif.) will begin his professional career with Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus.
Chaffee played two seasons (2017-19) at TSU after transferring from Las Positas College. The 6-8 forward played 58 games in blue and white, starting all 30 his senior season. He posted 5.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game with 43 total blocks.
“Good things happen to good people,” said Collins. “Stoke was a model citizen and worked extremely hard every day. He played his role here at TSU and he outplayed a lot of other talented bigs around the conference. I believe he will have that same impact in Cyprus.”
- Chaffee increased his scoring average from 3.1 points per game as a junior to 7.0 during his senior season in 2018-19.
- His career high for 17 points came on Feb. 16, 2019 at Jacksonville State, while posting six games with 10 or more points for the Tigers, including two double-doubles.
- Chaffee led the Tigers in rebounding 14 times as a senior, totaling 18 over his two year stint.
- Former Tiger, Ken'Darrius Hamilton played for Omonia Nicosia last season.
