My TSU Experience: Samson Oyediran

Samson Oyediran played three seasons for the Tennessee State men’s basketball team after transferring in from Ancilla College in Indiana. The 6-7 forward from London, England played in 56 games, helping the Tigers post a 52-39 record over the last three seasons. In addition to his performance on the court, Oyediran was award OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades for his work in the classroom and earned the 2017 Accelerating Academic Success Program (AASP) Career Development Award. Samson earned a bachelor of science from Tennessee State on Saturday, May 5 while boasting a 3.8 GPA and graduating with honors, magna cum laude.

A:  It was great. I had an amazing time!

A: The culture, lifestyle and family-oriented vibe you get when you walk on campus

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
A: The love you received every day just walking around

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?
A: Playing at Duke

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU?
A: Pledging Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

TSUTigers: What are some accomplishments/goals that you reached at TSU?
A: Pledging, GPA, Scholar Awards

TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?
A: The lady who always screamed when the other team was shooting

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
A: Take your time and don’t limit yourself to just sports

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?
A: Physics

TSUTigers: Who was your favorite professor?
A: Dr. Bignall, Dr. Harlston, all health science professors

TSUTigers: What organizations were you a part of outside of your sport?
A: Collegiate 100, Alpha Phi Alpha

TSUTigers: Who have been the most influential people to you at TSU?
A: Mr. Perry

A: Being Great
