NASHVILLE --- For the third year in a row, the Dana Ford Basketball Camp gave local children a chance to learn the fundamentals of the game while having fun at the free four-day event. The camp at Tennessee State University’s Gentry Center, which started on Monday, concluded on Thursday.
The Tennessee State men’s basketball coaching staff, led by third-year Head Coach Dana Ford, guided the 60 children ages 7-13. Each day included a number of different drills and games designed to develop the campers’ basketball skills and love of the game.
“Our staff really enjoys being able to serve this community with free camps,” Ford said. “Physical activity is good for the kids, and the most important thing is that we teach them to have fun playing basketball. Everyone had a great time and hopefully we picked up some life-long TSU fans along the way.”
Free lunch was provided every day, and every camper took home a free basketball and t-shirt.
