Tahjere McCall Named to Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State men’s basketball redshirt senior Tahjere McCall (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned a spot on the CollegeInsider.com Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team, it was announced on Tuesday.

McCall, the two-time Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year, set the TSU single-season steals record with 76 in 2016-17. The 6-5 point guard secured First Team All-OVC honors in each of the last two seasons. He finished sixth in the nation in 2016-17 with 2.81 steals per game.

McCall helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back winning seasons during his two years on the court for TSU after transferring from Niagara University. For his performance this season, he has also earned BOXTOROW First Team All-America accolades and NABC Second Team All-District 19.
