OPENING TIP:  The Tennessee State men’s basketball team looks for its third-consecutive win with a road Ohio Valley Conference test at Jacksonville State on Saturday evening. The Tigers are coming off recent road wins at Austin Peay in Tennessee Tech in their last two outings.

ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks had won two in a row before falling at home to first place Belmont by a 66-53 final score on Thursday night. JSU, which has lost three of its last four home games, is led by Malcolm Drumwright and his 11.9 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT: Balanced scoring with five players reaching double figures carried TSU to a 72-59 road win at Tennessee Tech on Thursday night. Ken’Darrius Hamilton (Montgomery, Ala.) recorded his second-consecutive double-double with a career-high 21 points to go with 10 rebounds. TSU finished with a 38-28 rebounding edge and shot 48.2 percent from the field on the night.

LAST TIME VERSUS JACKSONVILLE STATE: Five TSU players scored in double figures, but the Tigers suffered an 86-79 loss to Jacksonville State on Jan. 21 at the Gentry Center. The Tigers trailed by 12 points at halftime before cutting the deficit to four in the second half. The Gamecocks shot 61.5 percent from the field on the night.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Tennessee State’s all-time record versus Jacksonville State is 17-12. TSU is 6-3 in the last nine meetings with the Gamecocks.

UP NEXT: TSU hosts Morehead State on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 8 p.m. at the Gentry Center. The game will air live on ESPNU.
