HOW TO WATCH: Stations

OPENING TIP: Winners of two in a row, the Tigers head to Richmond, Ky. to take on Eastern Kentucky on Thursday night in an American Sports Network broadcast.

ABOUT EASTERN KENTUCKY: The Colonels are 8-10 overall and 1-2 in the OVC this season. EKU is led by reigning OVC Freshman of the Year Nick Mayo (17.5 ppg) and four-time OVC Freshman of the Week Asante Gist (14.8 ppg). The Colonels are 6-2 at home this season and are coming off a 74-60 home loss to Eastern Illinois on Jan. 7.

LAST TIME OUT: Four Tigers scored in double figures as TSU defeated UT Martin, 76-65, on Jan. 7 at the Gentry Center. Delano Spencer (Atlanta, Ga.) scored a career-high 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting to lead the offense. Tahjere McCall (Philadelphia, Pa.), who finished with 17 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals, eclipsed 1,000 career points on the night. McCall earned OVC Player of the Week and BOXTOROW National Player of the Week for his efforts. Wayne Martin (Brooklyn, N.Y.) just missed a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.

LAST SEASON VERSUS EKU: TSU and EKU split last year's meetings with both teams winning on the road. TSU's 79-78 road win was the first for the Tigers in Richmond since March 1, 2008. Tahjere McCall (Philadelphia, Pa.) averaged 19.5 points and 3.0 rebounds while Wayne Martin (Brooklyn, N.Y.) put up 9.0 points and 5.0 boards in the two games versus EKU in 2015-16.

ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS EKU: TSU is 26-33 in the all-time series versus Eastern Kentucky. EKU had won five in a row before TSU’s 79-78 road win over the Colonels on Feb. 13, 2016. The Tigers are 1-3 versus the Colonels since TSU Head Coach Dana Ford took over prior to the 2014-15 season.

REACHING 1,000: TSU redshirt senior Tahjere McCall (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored his 1,000th career point on Jan. 7 versus UT Martin. He is the second TSU player to reach 1,000 career points this season, joining Jordan Reed (Philadelphia, Pa.), who accomplished the feat on Nov. 26 versus Reinhardt.

NEXT UP: TSU takes on Morehead State on the road on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 7:45 p.m. ET (6:45 p.m. CT).
