OPENING TIP: The Tennessee State men’s basketball team looks to extend its winning streak to four games with Thursday night’s road test at Morehead State. The two sides met on Feb. 6 in Nashville with the Tigers earning a 77-76 victory.

LAST TIME OUT: TSU earned a thrilling 79-78 Ohio Valley Conference road victory at Eastern Kentucky at McBrayer Arena on Saturday for the Tigers’ first win at EKU since March 1, 2008. Redshirt senior Keron DeShields (Baltimore, Md.) scored 18 points and eclipsed 1,000 career points on the day. TSU, which trailed by 10 with just over 16 minutes left, stormed all the way back to take the lead for the last 6:30 of the game.

Down by one with 1.9 seconds left, Jarelle Reischel’s jumper was off the mark for EKU as the Tigers picked up their third win in a row. Tahjere McCall (Philadelphia, Pa.) paced the offense with 22 points, while Xavier Richards (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) added 11. For the second game in a row, Demontez Loman (South Port, N.C.) led the rebounding effort with nine.

ABOUT MOREHEAD STATE: Morehead State leads the OVC in scoring defense (67.1 ppg), rebounding margin (+5.3) and steals per game (8.4). The Eagles are on a three-game winning streak with victories over Eastern Kentucky, Belmont and St. Catharine in their last three games. Corban Collins (11.8 ppg) leads a balanced attack that features five players scoring 8.6 points per game or more.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. THE EAGLES: TSU has gone 31-35 in the all-time series versus Morehead State. TSU was handed a 72-57 loss at Morehead State last season. The year before in 2013-14, the Tigers picked up a 70-68 road win at Morehead State.
