NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State men’s basketball team held its annual Blue and White Scrimmage in front of a spirited crowd at the Gentry Center on Tuesday night.
“The first thing is it gets us in front of some fans, under some lights and with some officials,” second-year Head Coach Dana Ford said. “We treated it like a game day. Some of our guys have never played a Division I game, so we wanted to try to get them that game-day experience.”
In a game-like atmosphere, the Tigers split into two sides for a full 40-minute scrimmage. Starting with even teams, by the end, the teams were split into freshmen versus the upperclassmen.
Ford brings back four of his top five scorers from a year ago as well as the team’s top two rebounders for his second year at the helm.
The Tigers are back in action for an exhibition game versus Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at Kean Hall.
