Patrick Miller Drafted in Second Round of NBA Development League Draft

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Tennessee State men’s basketball star Patrick Miller was selected in the second round of today’s NBA Development League draft by the Oklahoma City Blue, an affiliate of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

Miller was the ninth pick of the second round, making him the 28th overall selection in the draft.

The Chicago, Ill. native starred for the Tigers, earning First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. Miller graduated as TSU’s sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,900 career points. He also holds TSU single-season modern era records for assists (195), minutes (1,186) and attempted free throws (268).

Miller led the OVC and finished fifth in the NCAA with 23.7 points per game as a senior in 2013-14 before signing a contract to play professional basketball in Turkey during the 2014-15 season.

The Oklahoma City Blue is coming off a 28-22 record in 2014-15 and a second-place finish in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference.
