NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Another day of practice is in the books for the Tennessee State men’s basketball team after a productive session on Wednesday afternoon on campus at the Gentry Center.
“I think today was solid,” TSU Head Coach Dana Ford said. “We’re trying to get better in a couple of areas. The guys had a really good effort and had good energy. We did add a few new things, so that maybe slowed down practice a little bit, but we’re looking forward to another practice on Friday.”
Following a film session reviewing last practice, the Tigers jumped into shooting and passing drills to open the on-court activities. Practice then switched to 5-on-4 half court sets.
The coaching staff ran the players through offensive plays before going 5-on-5 live. Practice wrapped up with breaking the full-court press and more offensive sets.
“The term we use is, we want practice to be more 'game-like,'” Ford said. “We’ll have another scrimmage Friday morning and then again on Saturday afternoon. We’ll get going up and down and get a little fatigued. We can see who can execute and focus in and do things the right way even when they’re tired.”
The Tigers are off from practice tomorrow with regular practice picking up on Friday.
