NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee State men's basketball team completed its fifth practice of the 2015-16 season at the Gentry Center on Wednesday afternoon in a session more geared toward the offense.
After a film session in the locker room, the Tigers took the court for drills beginning with offensive sets.
“Today, I thought practice was very competitive,” senior guard Xavier Richards (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands) said. “I think the offense is ahead of the defense at this point. The defense still needs to build chemistry to play great defense as a unit. Once we build more chemistry, I think we can be a really good team.”
Later in the practice, the team split up into stations by position focusing on ball handing, post ups and one-on-one offense and defense.
Following more run-throughs of half-court offensive sets, TSU concluded practice with a high-energy four-on-four live play drill in the half court.
The Tigers are off from practice tomorrow before resuming activities on Friday.
