Robinson, Jr. Scores Career 1, 000th point in Loss

Murray, Ky. – The Tennessee State University men's basketball team's six-game win streak and run for the OVC Championship came to an end with a heartbreaking defeat to Murray State, 88-74, at the Regional Special Event Center.

Gerald Robinson, Jr. eclipsed his career 1, 000th point with a game-high 26 points. Emanuel Gaiter scored 14 points, Jerrell Houston added 13, and Darius Cox chipped in 10.

The Tigers (12-18, 9-9 OVC) trailed by 11 in the first half before narrowing the lead at the half, 38-45. Robinson opened the Tiger assault with two three-point shots leading TSU with 11 points at the break.

The Racers (13-16) had six players in double figures. Ivan Aska led with 17 points. Issac Miles tallied 15 points including two three-point shots in the last minutes. Tony Easley had 12 points, Jason McClain 10, and Danero Thomas chipped in 12.

TSU came within three points with less than four minutes remaining but could not bounce back due to MSU free throw shooting.
